The Fayette County Sheriff's Office provides the following services to the citizens and businesses of Fayette County.
The Animal Control operates the Fayette County Animal Shelter and enforces the animal control ordinance and applicable state laws governing pets and livestock.
The civil process division serves civil warrants, writs, attachments, subpoenas, summons and other papers as directed by the court and the court clerk.
The Sheriff operates the Fayette County Detention Cneter as required by the Tennessee State Constitution.
Providing security for the courts in Fayette County is another statutory obligation of the Sheriff.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office hosts, staffs, and operates emergency and non-emergency communications services for all emergency services located in the Fayette County Emergency Communications District.
Several investigation divisions are established within FCSO to address serious and violent cimees that occur in Fayette County; Criminal Investigations, Narcotics Investigations; and specialized task forces.
The Patrol division routinely responds to requests for assistance throughout the county. It also performs traffic and school zone enforcement and routinely patrol neighborhoods and county roads.
